Welcome from Our District Bishop
I give honour and praise to the God of my salvation who has blessed us to see our 64th district convocation. Lady Genevieve and I extend greetings to our Presiding Bishop Dexter Edmund, First Lady Yolonda Edmund, visiting Bishops their wives and the Saints.
I also wish to pay tribute to our District Mother, the Pastors, Church Leads, Officers and Saints in District 7 for your labour of love and contributions to the church. A warm welcome goes to our visitors in attendance.
I recognise and thank all the speakers, presenters, choirs, musicians, and psalmist’s for accepting the call to minister in the church and pray that God will use you for His glory.
Our Convocation theme calls us to think carefully about the perils of ‘deception’ and what we should do to avoid it. As we reflect on what God’s word teaches us about deception, let us apply the anti-deception methods that God has given us in His Word.
We can avoid deception by knowing and abiding in God’s truth (John 8:32). When we abide in the truth of His Word, God’s truth detects deception, ensures that we do not fall victim to Satan’s ruse and guarantees absolute liberty in Christ Jesus.
It is my hope and prayer that this theme will inspire us to stand for God as true worshippers and that souls will be born for His kingdom.
Yours in Christ
God bless you

Theme Preamble - "Be Not Deceived"
Our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ clearly outlined in His word the events that will precede His second advent. One of the key indicators of our Lord’s imminent return is spiritual deception and Jesus warns us that “…many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matt.24:5)
Today we are faced with a constant barrage of spurious inducements, it is therefore vital that the saints are not deceived or taken in by the wiles of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-11). We must use all of the resources that God has given us to combat the devil’s dastardly schemes and follow the leading of the Holy Ghost (Rom.8:1-2).
Banking scams, ransomware, phishing emails, malware and AI are just some of devious schemes that can come to deceive us in our world today. Just one click of a link in an email can transport us into a world of deception and falsehood.
The world is full of scams, deceptive practices using subterfuge and wicked practices which are designed to trap us. These schemes make false look true and the disingenuous appear to be genuine.
One of most impactful forms of satanic deception is against the doctrinal belief of the church (II Tim.4:3). The Apostolic doctrine which we espouse and uphold is under serious attack, but Jesus said “…the gates of hell shall not prevail…” (Matt.16:18) against His church. It is important that the believer is aware of the deceptive schemes / wiles of the devil and that we are not hoodwinked by the enemy when it comes to what we believe about Jesus Christ.
Erroneous doctrinal belief systems have diverted some seasoned Christians into error because they failed to abide in the truth. To avoid deception, it is vital that the believer’s life is anchored in the truth of God’s word (John14:6).
My prayer is that the believer will be discerning and motivated to use the tools and weapons that God has given the church and thereby be alert all forms of deception.

Parking Restrictions
Bethel Church Bristol continues to work hard to maintain healthy relationships with our neighbours and want to ensure that you and your family are safe when you visit us over the weekend.
We are situated in a built up residential area and we encourage everyone to be thoughtful to our neighbours when you select locations to park.
We respectfully ask that you do not park on pavements if possible, and do not block the path of those who may need to enter and exit their homes, for pedestrians who may have physical challenges, for children and their parents who may need to walk out into the road in order to get around your vehicle and other road users who may not be able to safely navigate and have clear sight of the road. We encourage you to adhere to the parking guidance on the road signs around Bethel Church when parking on the yellow lines.
Lastly, please avoid parking outside of the Co-Op opposite Bethel Church Bristol as it hinders their ability to conduct business operations, or the Sikh temple to the left and opposite Bethel Church Bristol.
*It is likely that traffic wardens will be in the area during the weekend and we will do our best to alert you to this if this information comes to light.
If you do need any assistance with parking, please let us know and we will do our best to advise.
